The best way to send parcels to Danny and Sandra is by SURFACE MAIL SMALL PACKAGE. For parcels weighing one kilogram, the cost will be £7.80 max; anything under that decreases in price, and you would be surprised how much you can get into a one kilogram parcel.
The needs of the people living in the FAVELAS are great, so whatever you send will be useful, but the greatest need is for MEDICAL items,
PAIN KILLERS, such as paracetamol tablets (or soluble), Ibrofen tablets, antiseptic ointments, vitamin pills for adults and children, Calpol for babies, cotton wool, gauze dressings and bandages.The only way these people can get such things is through Danny.
FOR THE SCHOOL Pens, pencils, rubbers, pencil sharpeners, rulers, coloured pencils, Lollypops/sweets, balloons.. Exercise books and soap are needed, but they do weigh heavy. Treats for the children such as balloons and sweets, but be careful what sweets you send as they are at least four weeks in transit - chocolate could spoil. Sandra can use these treats in her childrens' meetings. Wrap smaller items in an article of clothing, then put the whole lot in a plastic bag and sellotape securely, then wrap in strong brown paper. Woolworths sell rolls of brown paper for £1.00, and you can buy wide brown sticky tape in the Pound shops.
Please remember to put a Customs slip on the parcel. This is VERY IMPORTANT! They will give you one at the Post Office when you post the parcel. Whether you send parcels individually, or as a church, as we do here at Argoed, the Lord will send you many blessings.
One more thing to remember - pray for for safe delivery into Danny and Sandra's hands - they are in the front line and need us to bring up the rear.
