AguAvivA - Project
Classrooms for training in English and Computer Technology
I. Project
Lessons for the teaching of the English language, introduction of Computer
Technology and help for children with learning difficulties, for the young
people from families of the Vila Apolônia (Slum) Jardim Leblon region of
Belo Horizonte, promoting personal encouragement through
technical development, spiritual and social. (Demographic data sheet attached at the end).
II. The vision is to use the classrooms as follows
· Two classrooms for education (Bible studies, English language, help for
children with learning difficulties), containing 07 accents in each room
(chair with table arm).
· Installation of a room of computers for technical education and tools of
Windows and Office, monitored access to the Internet, containing 06 points of access.
· Installation of a kitchen to hold small meals, and also for teaching of basic
cooking skills and for fellowship dinners once a month.
III. Objective
In a healthy environment we want to teach for free, the English language and instruct
on the use of computers for teenagers, it has become our vision and focus, building
for better opportunities in the labour market and support the social and cultural training.
IV. Justifying the Project
Usually the young residents of the community are involved in violent ideas that
add little to them, ie: being open to the lure of drug traffickers, alcohol abuse,
child prostitution, preventing the possibilities of changing their destinations,
marked by poverty and discrimination.
With the Football World Cup being held in Brasil 2014, Belo Horizonte will
feature greatly in this due to them having the second biggest stadium
(Minerão). There are already plans to build new Hotels, Restaurants,
Multi Car Parks, etc, etc. So our project will help to prepare the teenagers
for the many bilingual opportunities that will come to Belo Horizonte.
We believe that the reality of their situations can be changed. We want to offer them
through effective action an opportunity to those who are under such circumstances,
but are open to the chance of change. With new environment courses,
through simple but committed, with relational aspects based on Christian principles.
V. Our Vision Hopes
To reach in approximately 5 years 10% of all young people of this community
with our project (aged between 12 and 21 years). These numbers are
quite significant to us because we have not only a vision of technical training,
but the attention to character and Christian values. This is meant to hit this
community in a strong renewal and its impact on young people, who will
become multipliers of economic and social benefits, and will have much effect
on social behaviour.
VI. AguAvivA Meeting the needs.
AguAvivA is a Christian family helping families, active in the community Vila Apolônia.
With a free pre-school that can serve about 60 children (from 2 to 6 years) it has
a two storey building that caters for this. We have a Kombi that’s used to distribute
free food to the needy families. We also have a Church to meet the spiritual needs
of the people, containing two floors, the second floor to be used for the realization
of the new project.
VII. Costs for completion of project
We have divided into stages, allowing the participation of people to invest as
the possibilities of their finances allow. Here is a average of estimated costs,
from budgets requested from the respective suppliers to each branch of activity.
