Agua Viva - One family helping families

Mission Satement

AguAvivA Centro Comunitario is the vision of Danny and Sandra O'Brien established in Belo Horizonte, Brasil, in 1994. This is the third largest city and they serve a shanty town or favela of about 10,000 people. The physical and social conditions are extreme, with poverty, disease and family breakdown.

AguAvivA provides help in the following:

  • HEALTH
  • EDUCATION
  • FAMILY SUPPORT
  • EVANGELISM

THE AIM IS TO SHARE THE LOVE OF JESUS BY EACH OF THESE MEANS

HEALTH: Most of the children suffer from vitamin deficiency, diseases and worms. Dental care is nonexistent because of the cost. AguAvivA provides care through the services of professional volunteers and short term health visits.

EDUCATION: AguAvivA provides literacy classes for adults and reinforcement classes for children with learning difficulties. Without basic literacy, it is difficult to earn a living or to read the Bible.

FAMILY SUPPORT: To help provide school uniforms, books, etc. Without these, children cannot get into school and begin to escape the poverty trap. Food parcels, bus tickets and clothing are also provided.

EVANGELISM: The work of AguAvivA is to show God's love for the poor in a practical manner. The bottom line is that people need to know Jesus before their lives can be changed at the core.

Dear Friends

The apostle Paul spoke about Partnership in the gospel. These is needed today, more than ever.

We invite you to enter into partnership with us, as we are with Brasilian nationals. You can do this by praying for the poor and needy in the Favelas (slums) of Brasil where God has called us to work.

We are excited at the possibilities which our gracious God is opening up for us. Would you stand with us in this important work of God?

Yours in His love always

Danny, Sandra and Lucas

We hope that you will be touched by this story and feel able to support Danny and his family through prayer and practical means enabling them to continue to follow the leading God has given them

Welcome
